There’s no doubt that Priyanka Chopra has put India on the global map with her achievements in both Bollywood and Hollywood. From being crowned Miss World in 2000 to becoming an international star a couple of years ago, Priyanka Chopra has come a long way over the last two decades. She may have been embroiled in controversies surrounding her love affairs, plastic surgeries and most recently, her autobiography, Unfinished, but PeeCee has always remained focused and went on to break the rules to set a new precedent for the younger generation. First Indian to announce Oscar nominations
Priyanka Chopra and husband Nick Jonas recently took to Instagram to share that they will be announcing the Oscar nominations on March 15. The two posted a video to share the information. This makes Priyanka, the first Indian to announce the Academy Award nominations.
Leading lady in Hollywood
Priyanka made her mark in the west by bagging a lead role in the TV show, Quantico. She also made her big-screen Hollywood debut with Baywatch and went on to star in A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic among other films.
People’s Choice Awards
The star took home the People’s Choice Awards for Best Actress in a New Show for Quantico, beating the likes of Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and others.
Collaboration with Pitbull and Will.I.Am
She took the US by storm with her music and by collaborating with Hollywood biggies such as Pitbull and Will.I.Am for her hit tracks, In My City and Exotic.
Oscars red carpet
Priyanka was invited to grace the Oscars 2016 red carpet and she made her presence felt with her scintillating looks and stunning choice of attire. She made it to the Best Dressed Celebs list and also presented an award at the ceremony.
Slaying it at Hollywood talk shows
Our home-grown queen slayed it at popular Hollywood talk shows like The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen Degeneres Show with her witty comebacks, and made everyone fall in love with her.
Padma Shri
Priyanka Chopra was bestowed with a Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, by President Pranab Mukherjee in 2016.
