Friends: The Reunion – Did you know Ross aka David Schwimmer and Rachel aka Jennifer Aniston were actually crushing on each other?


The much-awaited Friends: The Reunion special has started streaming exclusively on Zee5 in India on Thursday, May 27, at 12:32pm and it has taken everyone down the memory lane to revisit all those heartwarming moments. The unscripted reunion special saw the star cast of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer sharing their experiences while working on the sets. And while doing so David and Jennifer, who are known as Ross Gellar and Rachel Green, revealed that they were actually crushing on each other as they played onscreen couple on the show. During the special episode, David and Jennifer spilled the beans on their off-screen romance and how it helped them bring it alive and make it look flawless on the screen. As we all know that Ross and Rachel were seen falling in love with each other during the initial episodes and then get married as well. When they were asked about their onscreen romance, Jennifer turned to David for answers. And he said that they both had a huge crush on each other but didn’t cross boundaries since one of them was always in a relationship. “At some point, we were crushing hard on each other but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship. And we never crossed that boundary,” David said. Friends: The Reunion also featured special appearances by David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai. Ben Winston has directed the unscripted special and also executive produced along with Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.

The original series ran from 1994 to 2004 and continues to draw big ratings in reruns. Over a decade, Aniston played Rachel Green, Courteney Cox was Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow played Phoebie Buffay, Matt LeBlanc essayed Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry was Chandler Bing and David Schwimmer played Ross Geller.
