DaBaby Sued for Assaulting Property Owner

DaBaby is facing more legal drama.

The owner of a Runyon Canyon rental property filed a lawsuit on Monday (Feb. 22), alleging that the “Rockstar” rapper assaulted him and stole his phone when he tried to shut down an unauthorized music video shoot last December.

In the suit, obtained by Variety, Gary Pagar claims that DaBaby (real name Jonathan Kirk) rented the home on condition that no more than 12 people would be on site, in adherence with COVID-19 restrictions. However, Pagar alleges that DaBaby violated the terms of the lease and brought around 40 people to the property.

When Pagar, 64, went to the home to shut down the production, he alleges that he was attacked by an unknown assailant. Pagar says that DaBaby then got out of a car and chased him into the house, warning him not to call police. He then allegedly sucker-punched him in the mouth, knocking out a tooth and leaving him bloody.

“Mr. Kirk appears to think he’s a real tough guy,” the lawsuit states. “Mr. Kirk is wrong.”

The police were called before DaBaby fled the scene. Pagar alleges that DaBaby and his guests left thousands of dollars in damage, and have only paid a portion of the rental bill. A security camera was also allegedly destroyed to hide the fact that they had brought more than 12 people to the house.

In addition to being assaulted, Pagar claims he was spat upon and alleges that the assailants taunted him by tossing around his phone. Pagar is also suing DaBaby’s manager, Kinsza Virgil.

This is the latest altercation involving the Grammy-nominated rapper, who has been accused of assaulting and robbing a Miami club promoter and attacking a hotel employee who tried to take a picture of him. In March of 2020, he allegedly slapped a female fan during a concert in Tampa.
