Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s New Orleans home caught fire on Wednesday night (July 21). According to TMZ, firefighters responded to a 1-alarm fire at the Spanish baroque mansion in the Garden District after receiving a call around 6 p.m. A little over two hours later, the fire was fully extinguished.

The extent of the damage is unclear at this time, but it reportedly took 22 firefighters to extinguish the blaze. Video footage shows several firetrucks outside the historic property.

Thankfully, there were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains unknown. A smoke alarm alerted the fire department about the blaze.

Back in 2015, the Carters reportedly purchased the $2.6 million, 13,292-square-foot mansion named La Casa de Castile, which was once home to the Westminster Presbyterian Church and later served as a ballet studio. Built in 1925, the three-story structure features 26-foot high ceilings and three separate apartments.
